Modified Growth Releasing Factor aminos 1-29, commonly known as Modified GRF (1-29) or Mod GRF(1-29), and also referred to as CJC-1295 without DAC, is a synthetic version of the natural peptide signaling hormone called Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH).

Mod GRF (1-29) (CJC-1295 no DAC) serves as a long-acting analog of GHRH. Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH), which is sometimes called growth-hormone-releasing factor (GRF or GHRF) or somatocrinin, is a peptide hormone comprising 44 amino acids that is synthesized in the hypothalamus, specifically by the arcuate nucleus. GHRH triggers the release of growth hormone (GH) from the pituitary gland. It is secreted in a pulsatile fashion, which in turn stimulates the pulsatile release of GH. This hormone also supports slow wave sleep. The biologically active segment of this GHRH or GRF peptide is a 29-amino-acid peptide known as GHRH 1-29. The pulsatile release of different peptides is governed by a negative feedback loop that is integral to the human growth hormone (hGH) axis, which regulates the production of hGH in the body to maintain homeostasis.

Research published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism indicates that Mod GRF (1-29) (CJC-1295 no DAC) can lead to dose-dependent increases in mean plasma GH levels by 2-10 times for over 6 days, along with a rise in IGF-1 levels by 1.5-3 times lasting 9-11 days following a single injection.
